Poster mock up 3

This is the second poster mock up. It has the same kind of design as the first poster but has slightly different text. This is because this poster is aimed at parents with children as it has the text
"Its YOUR children who will play in these parks, its up to you"
we have used this because it is eye catching for parents and has a particular audience where our other poster doesn't.

Poster mock up 2

This poster is the finished version of our poster mock up. We added a background and edited the logo to match the poster. We now need to get our own pictures and put them in replacement for the pictures on the poster. This is the first of our 2 posters we are designing.

Posters

This is our first poster design. We have chosen this design because it is very clear and the message we are trying to get across is very clear. there is not alot of text but enough to understand the poster and there is afew pictures with our logo and name. There is also basic contact info at the bottom and this is good because it follows the conventions of a normal poster

OUR CAMPAIGN

GROUP NAME: INNOVATION

CAMPAIGN NAME: SAVE HERTS PARKS

SLOGAN: SMALL PLACE, BIG FUTURE

LOGO:

We chose our group name because it sounded nice and was a link to our campaign. We then chose our campaign name because it was a rhyme scheme and it sounded good and it linked back to our campaign ideas. Our Slogan was created when making our logo and it sounded good. Our logo took us a while to design and was a standered looking logo but we thought we should link what we were doing in the logo, so we used a puzzle to represent us putting the pieces back together to save the parks. The football goal is to represent the sports and the same with the skatepark, the tree is to represnt how we are going to keep the parks healthy and looking nice.

Logo and slogan

We decided on our name Innovation because its another word for regenration but sounds better.
We used the pictures we used because they are the kind of things we want to do to the park to make it better. The puzzle represents building. We used this to show how we are putting the pieces of the park back together. We used a football goal because often in parks the football goals are old and battered and need replacing, so in the parks we work in we are going to replace them. We used the trees because often the trees in a park are either battered and almost dead, or there not there because they have been killed, putting trees in a park will be good because it will make it look nice and clean. We used a skateboard to represent the skatepark which we are going to upgrade/replace.

We decided on this slogan because its simple but big. It says exacly what it means and isnt long.

Areas in our school

The chickens

The chickens were an idea from the school council, the idea was to have lots of chickens that we can weed and get the eggs off to use in our lunch hall. This would save money and is an project for the school council.

The sitting areas in K-block

These have been worked on and regenrated so that all pupils have an outside but quiet area to sit if they choose to, theres 2 in K-block and they are often used, furniture has been put in them so that they can be used more easily.

The new block

This new block was designed and made in 2013, its for the 6th form to have there own block to have lessons in. This block is not only for 6th form but was made for them, it has its own pc rooms and replaced the 2 old rooms which were old and not usable.

Existing community campaigns

This campaign is to save the clapham firestation. The aim of the campaign is to stop the council from getting rid of it due to funding. They had there own facebook page and had the campaign on the front page of sevel news papers as seen in this picture. The target audience of the campaign was absoutly everyone in clapham because getting rid of the firestation would of added 4mins ontop of the emergency call time which could of threatened lifes. The campaign was successful and worked and clapham got to keep there firestation.

This campaign is the Go yellow campaign ran by essex and herts air ambulance. This campaign is to raise money for the air ambulance to keep people safe. The air ambulance is the quickest and most affective way of getting people to a hospital when in critical condition but it cant always be used because of funding costs. The aim of the campaign is to get more money to keep it in use more often. The target audience of the air ambulance is everyone because its a thing everyone might need at one point or another. This campaign has its own website and posters and articles in newspapers.

Existing local community campaigns

This is a local campaign to get a skatepark in stevenage. The methods of promotion used was promotion via social media and promotion via public news papers, these are 2 of the best ways of promotion because they can be widely seen by so many people. The aim of this campaign is to get an indoor skatepark in stevenage. The target audience can be very wide, from the parents who dont want there kids in the drug filled area of the outdoor skatepark to the teens+who want an indoor skatepark to ride when its not good weather. This campaign had a website which you could sign the petision on, a facebook page, and an article in afew different newpapers. So far the petision is going good and has lots of signitures. One of the persuasive techniques used in this campaign was the fact of keeping kids away from drugs and keeping them fit and healthy, it was saying how by not giving kids the facility needed there exposing there own children to drugs.

This campaign is a north hearts campaign about warning children about drinking. The methods of promotion used was promotion using social media and public news papers and they have there own website and posters. The aim of this campaign is to warn children early about alcohol and its effects early. The target audience is parents of both sexs. The idea of the campaign is to keep the children safe by talking to them before something happens not after. The posters of the campaign have obvious stats and information in big letters. http://www.hertsalcoholcampaigns.co.uk/

why do we need to focus on regeneration and getting people involved with community and green space?

We need to forcus on regeneration because over time things get broken and parks get run down and get dirty, if we didnt forcus on regeneration over time the place would get so bad and broken and run down that it wouldent look good at all. By keeping our community nice and clean its more likly to stay nice and get more vistors.

We need to keep people involved with community and green space because thats what keeps our community and place looking nice, by giving the kids in the community green space there more likly to use it and play in parks than go and do things there not aloud because they have nothing else to do.

Conventions of campaigns

Campaigns have conventions which are in every part of that company/groups campaign. This usually includes:
Logo
Slogan
Contact details
Colour scheme

A perfect example of a campaign which holds alot of the normal conventions is the smoke free campaign. They have a website and lots of posters and ads and a very large campaign including tv ads.
At the moment there holding stoptober, which has a website tv ads and lots more.
https://stoptober.smokefree.nhs.uk/
They follow the conventions because they all have the same logo, they all have the NHS logo on them somewhere in the poster or video, they all have the slogan STOPtober on them and they all have smokefree with there logo on them somewhere.
The contact details are always there and the link to there site is always there aswell.
The colour scheme of the ads are all the same with a big red circle around the stop, with a bluey greeny background.

The conventions are there to help you remember or think when you see them, its to keep you thinking about the campaign.

Campaigns

what is a campaign?

a campaign is an event and/or an process to achive something. That could be anything from an goverment campaign to stop smoking or stop drugs, all the way to a local campaign to get a park sorted out or to get a new building put in.

EXAMPLE: The smoking campaigns all over england-
this is just 1 example of a smoking campaign over england. This campaign is by the NHS and has lots of different parts of the campaign.

what methods of promotion is there?

promotion is a method to achive people buying a product or getting people talking about something.
there are 2 types of promotion:
non-controllable
controllable
both of these have different parts to them

Non-controllable

  • recommendation
  • word of mouth
  • peoples perception
All of these 3 can be bad and good promotion. People could be told bad things by word of mouth and good things. Peoples perceptions can also give a bad view.

Controllable

  • Advertising
  • Sale promotions
  • personal selling
  • publicity
all of these methods would be good for the promotion because if they can control the promotion they will definatly make it look good.

Community

a community of people is a group of people living together or in the same area. For example baldock is the community of the people who live there. You can have local communitys aswell which is a community within the community, for example the people living on a certain road could be classed as a local community.

In a community there are community spaces for the people who live there, there is spaces children of young age teens and adults and more.
For example:
Splash parks: aimed at young children
Football pitches: aimed at childen-teens-adult males
Rugby pitch: aimed at teens
Tennis courts: aimed at teens- adults
Gardens: aimed at everyone
local museum: aimed at everyone and tourists/people staying nearby.

It is important to have community spaces because they people have places to go to or places to have fun. Without community space like parks and gardens our community would be pretty boring and plain. London is a perfect example of somewhere with no community space, certain parks are just jam packed with flats and houses and this means kids have no where to go and play or hang out with friends, this could lead to drinking or drugs though bordem.

 Past community campaigns

Campaigns can be held by anyone at all and from young children all the way up to adults and ops. An example of a campaign which was held:
http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/stevenage-borough-council-build-an-indoor-skatepark-and-more-amenities-for-the-local-children: this is a campaign which is being held right now and is being held by an adult, it can be signed and held by anyone with an email adress.

http://www.hertswildlifetrust.org.uk/Wildlife/Wild+Stevenage: this is a campaign held by an group to get an certain thing, this post actually shows that its complete and the campaign worked.

There was a campaign in baldock to get a splash park in the local park, before the water park of the park was always dirty and always had sand and glass in the pool, this ment it was highly un-usable and it was wasnt used much at all, only when it got cleaned. The campaign worked and they got there water park and it now has lots of people going to it, it is a season park and cant be used in certain conditions but it means it will get used alot more and the park now looks alot better than before.
