Campaigns
what is a campaign?
a campaign is an event and/or an process to achive something. That could be anything from an goverment campaign to stop smoking or stop drugs, all the way to a local campaign to get a park sorted out or to get a new building put in.EXAMPLE: The smoking campaigns all over england-
this is just 1 example of a smoking campaign over england. This campaign is by the NHS and has lots of different parts of the campaign.

controllable
both of these have different parts to them

Community
a community of people is a group of people living together or in the same area. For example baldock is the community of the people who live there. You can have local communitys aswell which is a community within the community, for example the people living on a certain road could be classed as a local community. In a community there are community spaces for the people who live there, there is spaces children of young age teens and adults and more.
For example:
Splash parks: aimed at young children
Football pitches: aimed at childen-teens-adult males
Rugby pitch: aimed at teens
Tennis courts: aimed at teens- adults
Gardens: aimed at everyone
local museum: aimed at everyone and tourists/people staying nearby.
It is important to have community spaces because they people have places to go to or places to have fun. Without community space like parks and gardens our community would be pretty boring and plain. London is a perfect example of somewhere with no community space, certain parks are just jam packed with flats and houses and this means kids have no where to go and play or hang out with friends, this could lead to drinking or drugs though bordem.
Past community campaigns
Campaigns can be held by anyone at all and from young children all the way up to adults and ops. An example of a campaign which was held:http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/stevenage-borough-council-build-an-indoor-skatepark-and-more-amenities-for-the-local-children: this is a campaign which is being held right now and is being held by an adult, it can be signed and held by anyone with an email adress.
http://www.hertswildlifetrust.org.uk/Wildlife/Wild+Stevenage: this is a campaign held by an group to get an certain thing, this post actually shows that its complete and the campaign worked.
There was a campaign in baldock to get a splash park in the local park, before the water park of the park was always dirty and always had sand and glass in the pool, this ment it was highly un-usable and it was wasnt used much at all, only when it got cleaned. The campaign worked and they got there water park and it now has lots of people going to it, it is a season park and cant be used in certain conditions but it means it will get used alot more and the park now looks alot better than before.
Some good work here, Dan. Can you develop your notes on existing campaigns with more detail on what they do to promote their cause?
