Evaluation
Our two
media products are linked because they both are the same campaign with the same
ideas. Our two media products were a website, worked on by both me and Ellis,
but mainly worked on by Ellis, and two posters worked on and finished by me. We
have 3 mock up posters and decided to go with the ones we chose because they
looked better and had a better design and lay-out. Our research fulfilled the
brief because we chose to renew and protect an under-used local landmark,
Jackmans Park. We met the needs of the client by engaging and inspiring our
target audience and trying to encourage them to get involved and participate in
the renewal.
Our two
posters apply appropriate codes and conventions because both our posters have a
general colour code through out the individual posters. The posters have a
general convention of having a dark back-ground with lighter text. There are 2
main images per poster, showing a contrast between what we could have, and what
we do have. On both posters we have the same logo which is made to stand out
and innovation and its contact information. Both posters have an individual
tagline, one says “its you’re choice, but we need your help, help us save your
local parks” and the other is “It’s YOUR children who will play in these parks,
its up to you”. Both these posters have text directing it directly to its users
and readers. The posters are different because one poster is a general poster
for all our target audience, and the other poster is directed at parents with
kids and this is because its is easy to get them involved in the campaign as
they want the best possible outcome for their children, so says that its their
children are the ones who are going to be using these parks. The bad thing
about doing a poster is that they have to be put out, they need to be updated
often and most people now want to use the internet as much as possible, also no
one can give feedback and ideas from a poster, which is why we chose to use a
website and posters.
Our website
follows very similar conventions but our website is based for our whole target
audience and has many ways of getting them involved in the campaign including a
form they can fill in and submit, a survey they could fill in and submit for us
to find out what they want. We also have a donation option so they can help
support the campaign. The website has our logo and slogan as much as possible.
Our website has a page for our campaign telling them what we are doing and our
ideas and this is easier to do on a website than on a poster and that’s why its
better to use a website. The bad thing about using a website is that it needs
updating and checking as much as possible. Our website is appropriate to our
target audience because it catches attention and is easy and simple, anyone of any
age can use it and most people have phones and pcs they can access it on.
We have
represented the park as a bad place and someone you don’t want to be, and we
have shown what it can be and represented that as something good.
We worked as
a team in our project by working together on 6 pages for the website instead of
doing 3 each.
Evaluation discusses many points of his project with some focus on the production pieces, offering evidence of some understanding of conventions and audience.
