The Website

On our website was designed and made by me and Ellis. The first page was designed and made by me and that is the home page. I also did the blog page and the page called "please do our survey". Ellis did the other 3 pages which are our campaign page, contact innovation and help us at innovation.

Evaluation

Our two media products are linked because they both are the same campaign with the same ideas. Our two media products were a website, worked on by both me and Ellis, but mainly worked on by Ellis, and two posters worked on and finished by me. We have 3 mock up posters and decided to go with the ones we chose because they looked better and had a better design and lay-out. Our research fulfilled the brief because we chose to renew and protect an under-used local landmark, Jackmans Park. We met the needs of the client by engaging and inspiring our target audience and trying to encourage them to get involved and participate in the renewal.

Our two posters apply appropriate codes and conventions because both our posters have a general colour code through out the individual posters. The posters have a general convention of having a dark back-ground with lighter text. There are 2 main images per poster, showing a contrast between what we could have, and what we do have. On both posters we have the same logo which is made to stand out and innovation and its contact information. Both posters have an individual tagline, one says “its you’re choice, but we need your help, help us save your local parks” and the other is “It’s YOUR children who will play in these parks, its up to you”. Both these posters have text directing it directly to its users and readers. The posters are different because one poster is a general poster for all our target audience, and the other poster is directed at parents with kids and this is because its is easy to get them involved in the campaign as they want the best possible outcome for their children, so says that its their children are the ones who are going to be using these parks. The bad thing about doing a poster is that they have to be put out, they need to be updated often and most people now want to use the internet as much as possible, also no one can give feedback and ideas from a poster, which is why we chose to use a website and posters.

Our website follows very similar conventions but our website is based for our whole target audience and has many ways of getting them involved in the campaign including a form they can fill in and submit, a survey they could fill in and submit for us to find out what they want. We also have a donation option so they can help support the campaign. The website has our logo and slogan as much as possible. Our website has a page for our campaign telling them what we are doing and our ideas and this is easier to do on a website than on a poster and that’s why its better to use a website. The bad thing about using a website is that it needs updating and checking as much as possible. Our website is appropriate to our target audience because it catches attention and is easy and simple, anyone of any age can use it and most people have phones and pcs they can access it on.

We have represented the park as a bad place and someone you don’t want to be, and we have shown what it can be and represented that as something good.

We worked as a team in our project by working together on 6 pages for the website instead of doing 3 each.

Target Audience

Our original target audience was too aim at everyone in the community. We decided this was too broad and would be difficult to do, so we decided to aim our target audience at young teens to young adults and parents with children aged 6-12. This is because we decided these would be the people who would most likely use the parks and sporting equipment if it was put there.

Our Group

My group was me and Ellis. We decided to work together in this group as we knew we would work well together as we do not mess around together and wont sit talking all lesson. We also worked well together because we both had access to work out of lessons and both did this.

OUR PROGRESS

Our website is pretty much done now with our own photos and finished text pieces. Our posters are almost done with us just needing to put our own pictures in them.

Our website was the first thing we started and have been working on for a while. It has many pages with all the information needed. It shows where the park is we are working to save and it has a survey for anyone to do.

Our survey

Our survey is a simple survey to quickly find out our main target audience and what they want. In our survey we have 3 questions, what they want and have an option between or to tick more than one:

skatepark
football pitch
park
cricket pitch

then we asked for there age, this gives us an idea of our target audience and how old they are, and then we asked if they have kids, this is because our target audience does and could consist of adults with children. This is because adults want a better place for there children to grow up and play.

Our website

we have made a website so we can tell the public what we are doing and we have included tabs on the website which allows the public to tell us if they want there park regenerated. we also have involved a survey to see what people all over the country and what they think should be done to regenerated parks and why they get in that state in the first place.there is a contact us tab which allows people to tell us what they think we should include in parks for everyone for example like football goals or basketball courts in this they send us there email and we will reply back and have a look to see if the park needs regenerating.
